DAVID GILMOUR & ROGER WATERS
The Origins, The Pink Floyd, the solo Careers
Biography & Memoirs
Nino Gatti and Stefano Girolami
Nino Gatti, historian, biographer and Pink Floyd collector, has edited quite a number of fanzines, collaborating with Italian and foreign publications as well as with websites dedicated to the band. Stefano Girolami is a journalist and writer. He has edited books on Pink Floyd and writes on music, cinema, sport, events.
This book is an exciting journey into the works, lives, and turning points of Gilmour and Waters’ careers, which takes the reader on an enthralling discovery of two extraordinary musicians whose experiences stretch far beyond the dazzling history of Pink Floyd.
Maybe a stifling tie for Roger Waters -who sailed off on his journey decades ago- or an old-fashioned suit for David Gilmour, who branched out solo and notched up an impressive string of records, tours and collaborations.
The pages tell a dual biography with perfectly matched devotion describing paths that cross and diverge depending on circumstances. It revisits the milestones of the two musicians’ debuts until today -we learn about the band’s meteoric rise and the pivotal events from 1967 to 1995- and also explores their countless projects, albums, concerts, tours, both solo and as Pink Floyd, and the epochal changes that touched two of the greatest artists in the history of rock, first as a band, then individually.
"Richly illustrated, 'Gilmour & Waters' is a catching read thanks to the enthralling writing, the clear dates listing, the appeal of epic songs and the many anecdotes." — Gloria Indennitate for La Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno
