DESCRIPTION:
Church reform is urgent. On this point, almost everyone for whom the Church still matters agrees. If it remains as it is, it will not survive. Therefore: change! But how, and with what goal? Some argue: because the Church exists for the people, the people must change ("New Evangelization"). Others argue: because the Church exists for the people, the Church must change. Both approaches have not been particularly successful so far.
Reform means a return to the (original) form. Therefore, the question must be: To what extent is the Church true to its origin, its essence – that is, to following Christ? An analysis reveals: Little! Often, not much remains of the program of Jesus. According to Jerome, it reads: "Naked to follow the naked Christ."
The state of the Church provokes reflection. It is unlikely to end quickly.
