On July 8, 1820, Friedrich Pustet was granted a book trade license in Passau. Six years later, he left Passau, opened trading in “bound and unbound books” in Regensburg and began to publish religious and folk writings, regional, historical and theological literature.
Generations that followed increasingly specialized in liturgy, setting a profile as it stands and positioning Fr. Pustet Verlag among the leading publishers in the Catholic area.
The current catalogue mainly consists of:
-
an extensive history program, with a focus on historical biographies, history of cities and countries, and numerous titles on Bavarian national history
-
theological publications, with numerous books on pastoral practice, informative and specialist literature, and prestigious academic series.
