DESCRIPTION:
This story is about a sheep that cannot conform to the behaviour of the flock. Sheep are notorious for being unthinking followers.
It starts with all the sheep eating fresh grass, while our sheep sits at the table eating pizza. It also doesn't say "Määähhh" but "Kikerikiii", it doesn't want to go to the mountains either, it would rather go to the Caribbean. Doesn't shelter from the rain, doesn't sleep in the stable, doesn't groom its fur, and doesn't listen to the shepherd's dog.
So, other sheep turn away and think that sheep does not belong to them, thus setting our sheep in confusion and miscomprehension for being rejected.
Then a hungry wolf attacks the flock and our sheep encourages the others to resist. Inspired by this behaviour, the fleeing flock become emboldened, thus making short work of the wolf.
The non-conformist sheep shares in the merriment of the flock and common ground is established.
In the end everyone celebrates together and our sheep happily joins in.
This book celebrates the differences in all children and reinforces their self esteem.
REVIEWS:
"A beautiful picture book on an important subject. Wherever picture books like this are doing well, they are also very much recommended." _ Meheddiz Gürle for EKZ Bibliotheksservice, 21.03.2022; "Stephan Valentin highlights a problem that is not so easy: succeeding in finding your place while cultivating your difference. It is not always easy as young children are not tender with each other. This album allows you to lay a solid foundation on the importance of accepting others as they are, of gaining confidence in yourself, in your ideas and your desires." _Charlotte Bourdon for ComJ, 22.02, 2022;
