DESCRIPTION:

In this book,  psychologist Manuel Villegas analyzes emotions as an immediate reaction to a stimulus that implies a significant burden on our well-being, both in the positive and the negative.

By their nature, emotions are frequently associated with a series of myths, most notably that of their uncontrollable force. The belief in these myths makes any attempt at emotional management or regulation difficult, that is, to be able to manage the course of emotions once activation has occurred. In "The Emotional Mind", Manuel Villegas presents a study of basic emotions and the complex family of feelings derived from them, aiming to obtaining a greater knowledge of their nature and a better command of their management both in the personal and relational sphere as in educational and therapeutic applications.
